In 2024, the Netball South Zone has changed the representative and development programme to focus on giving more players opportunities to participate in netball tournaments.

There will no longer be representative teams at under 14 level, these have changed to development teams for Year 9 and Year 10 players, where Dunedin Netball will hopefully have at least two year 9 and two year 10 teams.

Registrations are open. Any Year 9&10 players currently playing for a secondary school team are welcome to register for Y9&10 Development Teams. Trials will be held on Sunday 23 June to select players into teams. Once selected, teams will have 4-5 practices and 2 tournaments during June-August.

Players can register for either one or both the Y9&10 opportunities: Development Days (see Programmes page for registration) and the Y9&10 Development Teams (register below).

Spaces will likely be limited dependent on registrations. Registrations may close early if maximum capacity is reached.

Dunedin Netball Development Teams 2024

At Year 7 & 8 age-group Dunedin Netball believe it is valuable to give opportunities for all players to experience development and tournaments.

All players who register for the Y7 & 8 Development Programme will be exposed to coaches who will help develop netball skills, NetballSmart awareness and team building during the 4 week programme which will include 2 development tournaments in Balclutha and Dunedin.

No trials will be held, rather players will be randomly assigned to teams. All players are welcome.
