Dunedin Men's Team assert their growth at Nationals

Our Dunedin Men's Team attended Men's Nationals for the second year running, after an absence on the National stage for a number of years.

Their campaign was a fun filled and action packed one!

In the B grade, most days the guys had 3 games a day, and some days 4 games!

Having finished last in B grade last year, the team were out to improve on that, and they certainly did that!

Our team started their campaign with an incredibly six game winning streak! Their finals two games of pool play were close encounters but losses to Southland A and Nelson A.

Qualifying for quarterfinals, the team overcame Christchurch C 32-21.

Come semi-final time they came up against Nelson A again, trying to avenge their earlier game, but went down by 6.

The team lead by Richard Jocelyn finished in 3rd place out of 9 - a excellent improvement from 2017! Great promise looking toward the future.

Big thanks to the excellent support team the Men had.

Special well done to the team for representing our area with pride, being awarded the Sportsmanship Award.

Richard was also appointed to the NZ Men's & Mixed Netball Board as the Southern Zone Representative.
